Your Name. Mitsuha VA Mone Kamishiraishi Voices The Lead in Sanrio’s Bosanimal Anime

 

 

Sanrio announced today that actress Mone Kamishiraishi (Mitsuha Miyamizu in Your Name.) is cast as the protagonist character Sakura the Bosa Usa, in the forthcoming TV anime inspired by its charcter brand born in the year 2021, Bosanimal.

In addition, the theme song for the anime is performed by CHAI, a four-piece band popular in Japan and abroad, under the concept of “NEO KAWAII.” A teaser PV introducing the song and the three main characters’ voices – Sakura voiced by Mone Kamishiraishi, Ran by Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger in SPY x FAMILY), and Kathy voiced by Japanese comedian Hikorohi – is now streamed on Sanrio’s official YouTube channel.

I am so honored to be a part of this lovely world. Sakura I play is a rabbit who is very naive. Both Hikorohi-san and Tanezaki-san perform their roles with a freedom that they don’t need to follow the images too closely, which is very surreal and enjoyable. I hope you will enjoy the new perspective of looking at human beings from Bosanimal while relaxing in the morning.

The TV anime Bosanimal will be aired on Mondays through Thursdays on Fuji Television’s variety news show Nonstop! from April 3.
