Get a Load of Live-Action One Piece’s Final Trailer
The launch of Netflix’s live-action One Piece is one day away, and a final trailer has been released. It’s a little under two and a half minutes long.
Here is what we know about the cast: Iñaki Godoy plays Luffy, Mackenyu plays Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd plays Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson plays Usopp, Taz Skylar plays Sanji, Morgan Davies plays Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino plays Alvida, Aidan Scott plays Helmeppo, McKinley Belcher III plays Arlong, Vincent Regan plays Garp, Peter Gadiot plays Shanks, Alexander Maniatis plays Klahadore, Steven Ward plays Mihawk, Craig Fairbrass plays Chef Zeff, Langley Kirkwood plays Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots plays Kaya, Chioma Umeala plays Nojiko, and Colton Osorio as young Luffy.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, creator Eiichiro Oda praised Godoy’s take as Luffy and thinks because of his (Oda’s) close involvement, this live-action adaptation will do better than past live-action adaptations of anime and manga. Oda remarked, “Thankfully, Netflix agreed that they wouldn’t go out with the show until I agreed it was satisfactory. I read the scripts, gave notes and acted as a guard dog to ensure the material was being adapted in the correct way.”
One Piece is the most successful manga series in history. VIZ Media publishes it in English, and gave this description for the first volume:
