Fairy Tail’s Hiro Mashima Launches New Manga DEAD ROCK on July 6

 

Not content with just two ongoing series, Monthly Shonen Magazine announced today in its July issue that Hiro Mashima will be launching a third ongoing series in the magazine’s August issue, which releases in Japan on July 6. The series, named DEAD ROCK, will join EDENS ZERO and FAIRY TAIL 100 YEARS QUEST on Mashima’s gauntlet of currently running series.

Mashima commented on doing three series at the same time, asking “Why did I do this? I don’t even know. But I can’t help myself because there are so many things I want to draw. I’ll do my best because I’m determined to do this!”

DEAD ROCK is set in a dark fantasy Demon Academy named DEAD ROCK, a demon king training institute that lords over the depths of the demon world. It’s there that Yakuto, a young Demon World dweller, is challenged to the grueling entrance examinations.
