GIRLS und PANZER Plans 10th Anniversary Virtual Concert in August
As part of the tenth anniversary project, the popular anime franchise GIRLS und PANZER will hold its first virtual concert at 20:00 (JST) / 04:00 (PT) on August 19, 2023. The title of the concert can be translated as “Girls und Panzer Let’s Begin! Kasho-dō (The Way of Singing) Virtual Live ~Gather all in Oarai!!!!!!!”

It has been three years since the cancellation of the Oarai Kairaku Festa in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the GIRLS und PANZER franchise has not participated in any events in Oarai, the town where the anime’s main story is set. The “virtual space” is the place for the people who want to go to Oarai but can’t, so the franchise has decided to hold its first virtual concert.
The footage for the concert will be filmed in Oarai, with theme song artists in live-action and 3D model characters performing (It is the characters that appear in the concert, not the voice actresses themselves). The confirmed members who will join the concert are below:
- Miho Nishizumi (CV: Mai Fuchigami)
- Saori Takebe (Ai Kayano)
- Hana Isuzu (Mami Ozaki)
- Yukari Akiyama (Ikumi Nakagami)
- Mako Reizei (Yuka Iguchi)
- Choucho (theme song singer)
- Sayaka Sasaki (theme song singer)
No special equipment such as VR goggles is required. The ticket price is 3,800 yen (27.46 USD). Streaming platform (and whether it can be viewed overseas) will be announced in the future.
Also, the franchise has launched a project to collect memorable photos from fans. At the end of the concert, those photos will be shown along with a certain famous song, and the names of those who contributed will be published in the end roll. Applications will be accepted from May 24 to June 11, 2023 at 23:59 (JST). You can send your photo with your GILRS und PANZER and Oarai memories via this form.
