15-year-old Kenshiro Kato is Cast as Shoyo Hinata in New Haikyu!! Stage Play
At the Jump Festa panel, it was announced that 15-year-old Kenshiro Kato, who has been active as a child actor since he was 3, is newly cast as the protagonist Shoyo Hinata in the forthcoming new stage play adaptation of Haruichi Furudate’s volleyball-themed sports manga Haikyu!!.

Following the very successful Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyu!! project from 2015 to 2021, the new stage play was announced in August 2022 with the establishment of a new theater company for it, Gekidan Haikyu!!. The new play directed by Kenta Suga, who played the protagonist Shoyo Hinata in the previous plays from 2015 to 2018, is scheduled to be performed in Tokyo in August 2023.

I am Kenshiro Kato and I will be playing the role of Shoyo Hinata at Gekidan Haikyu!! I’m very happy to be able to perform in a work that I have loved since I was in elementary school. With the advice from many people including Kenta Suga-san, whom I respect and admire, I will create my own version of Hinata! I look forward to seeing you at the theater in 2023!
