Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune Anime Reveals Premiere Date

It will soon be time to suit up and ship out, because the release date has been revealed for Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune, a Netflix original anime adaptation based on the series of military science fiction novels from the author of Saga of Tanya the Evil. Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune will begin streaming on Netflix on May 18, 2023.

The original Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune novels are written by Carlo Zen, illustrated by so-bin, and published in Japan by Hayakawa Publishing. The Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune anime is directed by Hideki Anbo and features animation production by Arect. Netflix describes the story of the series as follows:

 

A young man named Akira volunteers to join a planetary orbital infantry force called “Yakitori” in hopes of changing his life. What does fate have in store for him?
