Voice Actress Idol Group i☆Ris Announces Theatrical Anime in 2024

i☆Ris

Back in 2012, a group of voice actresses teamed up to become i☆Ris: a J-pop anison idol supergroup. Since then, the five members have held down both voice actress and idol duties. In 2024, those two worlds will cross over again, as the group gets their own theatrical anime!

Titled i☆Ris the Movie -Full Energy!!-, the project was announced today during the group’s 10th anniversary live show, i☆Ris 10th Anniversary Live~a Live~. There are no further details about the project yet, save that it will link into an overarching anniversary project. We also know that advance tickets will be sold in sets of five, based on this photo from the group’s recent album:

The group is also planning their eighth live tour next year. i☆Ris 8th Live Tour 2023 will kick off on April 23 at Misato City Cultural Hall in Saitama. Stops will continue through Aichi, Hokkaido, Osaka, Miyagi, Kanagawa, and Fukuoka, ending at Tokyo Dome City Hall on June 24. Official fan club members will be able to enter a lottery for advance tickets.

In addition to their own voice acting activities, i☆Ris has held starring roles in the PriPara franchise and performed themes for series including Magical Sempai and Twin Star Exorcists. The group also previously included Azuki Shibuya, who graduated in 2021 to pursue her own career goals.

The i☆Ris 10th Anniversary Special Site is now open, with further events and activities planned.
