Animate Girls Festival 2022 Boasts 188,000 Attendees Over Two Days
One of the biggest anime events in Japan, as well as one of the largest that caters to female anime fans, has just gotten even bigger in its 13th year with Animate Girls Festival 2022 confirming today that the event has surpassed 188,000 attendees over its two days.
Taking up a large amount of Tokyo’s Ikebukuro area, Animate Girls Festival brings anime, manga, voice actors, goods, otome games, cosplay and more into one large-scale event where all the merch, booths, food collaborations, events and such are catered towards female anime fans. Ikebukuro is best known as the female equivalent of Akihabara, especially Otome road, which has since expanded to more of the Sunshine area.

Animate Girls Festival 2022 was held on November 5 and 6 both in-person with precautions and through online events streamed on the Animate Times YouTube channel, which has not become available after the event.
