The Last Summoner’s Japanese Dub Reveals More Cast, Promo Video
Following in the footsteps of All Saints Street and A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized, The Last Summoner is the latest fantasy donghua (Chinese animation) to receive a Japanese dub. Six additional cast members and a short promo video were released today ahead of the series’ January 2023 broadcast.

The newly announced cast is as follows, joining Nobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugo in My Hero Academia) as male lead Ah Jie and Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya in SPY x FAMILY) as female lead Dora:
- Huanxin voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa (Enmu in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba)
- Kuro voiced by Yu Miyazaki (Quartz in I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss)
- Ruthless voiced by Taiki Yamashita
- Flame voiced by Hisako Kanemoto (Epsilon in The Eminence in Shadow)
- Shadow voiced by Ryoko Maekawa (Hanabi in Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki)
- Space voiced by Akira Sekine (Lily in BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls’ Story-)

The Japanese dubbed version of The Last Summoner will stream on Fuji on Demand beginning on January 3, 2023, with additional streams to follow in Japan via d Anime Store, Bandai Channel, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and more. Crunchyroll currently streams the Chinese language version of The Last Summoner and describes the story of the series as follows:
Centuries ago, beings walked the planet that could summon souls. When young Ah Jie accidentally attracts the goddess Dora, he’s thrust into the supernatural world of these magical Summoners.
