Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari TV Anime Reveals Four More Cast Members
With a little over a month to go until its premiere on January 9, the Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari anime series launched the first of three weekly lots of cast announcements today, starting with the following four characters (from left to right):
- Tsubaki Kadomori voiced by Saori Onishi (Shikimori in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie)
- Taiju Kadomori voiced by Nobuaki Kanemitsu (Driscoll in BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War)
- Shota Kadomori voiced by Shohei Tabuchi
- Umekichi Kadomori voiced by Shinya Takahashi (Ebisu in Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation)

Based on the manga by Onigunsou, Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari is being directed by Ryuichi Kimura (Aikatsu!) and assistant-directed by Takahiro Okawa at studio BN Pictures, with series composition by Keiichiro Ochi (Peach Boy Riverside) and main character designs by Shiori Fujisawa.
Crunchyroll, who’ll be simulcasting the anime next season, describes the series as such:
Filled with rage against spirits known as tsukumogami, Kunato Hyoma is sent to live with Nagatsuki Botan to help him see a different side. Though both are part of a clan that return the spirits back to their world with divine powers, their experiences with the otherworldly vessels are vastly different. Kunato, robbed of a loved one, and Nagatsuki, saved by them. Can she get through to him?
