Sumikko Gurashi, the adorable albeit somewhat anxious mascot characters developed by San-X, are returning to Japanese theaters yet again with a newly announced third animated theatrical film that will be released in 2023. Previously, the Sumikkos have starred in films released in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

A promotional image (below) from artist Yuri Yokomizo has been published to celebrate the announcement of the third film.

Few details about the new film (such as the staff and the exact release date) have yet been revealed, although it has been announced that like the previous two films, the as-yet-untitled third Sumikko Gurashi film is based on the original work by San-X, is animated by Fanworks, and is distributed by Asmic Ace.
