The world of Persona 5 continues to expand, this time in the form of a mobile RPG called Persona 5: The Phantom X. SEGA recently revealed that the game is in the works for China at publisher Perfect World Games and developer Black Wings Game Studio, with a release date and other territories not currently decided.

Persona 5: The Phantom X will be a free-to-play game with optional in-app purchases for iOS and Android devices, and a test is on the way to PC and Android in China on March 29.

 

As for the story, this is a completely new Persona 5 game centered on a new band of Phantom Thieves and featuring a protagonist and main Persona designed by series artist Shigenori Soejima. SEGA and ATLUS’ P-Studio are providing resources and supervising the game’s development, while Perfect World Games and Black Wings Game Studio will handle development, distribution and operation.

 

 

The release is currently only planned for China, so stay tuned for further updates as they’re announced.
