Fans of chilling and macabre tales of supernatural horror in Tokyo will soon be in for a treat, because a stage play adaptation based on the 2007 TV anime Mononoke will run at the HIKOSEN Theatre venue in February 2023. The play will adapt the “Bake Neko” story arc from the Medicine Seller’s first appearance in the 2006 TV anime, Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, which is described by Discotek Media as follows:

When a young samurai bride dies, the village druggist swears it’s the work of bakeneko (a catlike monster), which hunts each family member before revealing itself to horrified villagers, exposing a long forgotten scandal.
