Anpanman Celebrates 50th Anniversary with New Film in June

Anpanman and his friends are hungry for adventure in Soreike! Anpanman: Roborii to Pokapoka Present (“Go! Anpanman: Roborii and the Warming Present”), a new theatrical anime film that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the book series and the 35th anniversary of its TV anime and film adaptations.

A 30-second TV spot (above) has been published for the film, which features Anpanman and his friends encountering Roborii, a robot girl who lives on Robo Comet and who can manufacture anything. Together, they go on a grand adventure in search of a “special something” that can’t be made. Meanwhile, the villainous Baikinman tries to turn Robo Comet into Baikin-Robo Comet.

 

Based on the series of children’s books by Takashi Yanase, Soreike! Anpanman: Roborii to Pokapoka Present is directed by Toshikazu Hashimoto and features animation production by TMS Entertainment. The film hits theaters in Japan on June 30, 2023.
