Memorial Screenings to Be Held on June 10 to Celebrate Animator Takahiro Kimura

In March, the official Code Geass website announced that animation character designer and chief animation director Takahiro Kimura had passed away. To celebrate his life and work, a memorial screening will be held in Tokyo on June 10 with his contemporaries holding a talk where they discuss their memories of him.

The peers in attendance will be Dirty Pair Flash OVA director Tsukasa Sunaga, Dirty Pair Flash II director Tomomi Mochizuki, The King of Braves GaoGaiGar director Yoshitomo Yonetani and Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi. The event will be held twice in the day, with one around midday and the other at night, each showing different episodes of works Kimura had a hand in, such as Code Geass, Brigadoon: Marin & Melan and the other aforementioned works.

The directors will hold the talk after the episodes have been screened with each one of the events scheduled to run for around three hours. The memorial event will be held at Shin-Bungeiza in Ikebukuro with the midday session starting at 11 AM and the night session starting at 3:15 PM. Tickets go on sale on June 3.
