Mashin Hero Wataru TV Anime Announces 35th Anniversary Celebrations

35 years ago, Sunrise launched fantasy mecha anime franchise Mashin Hero Wataru. Since then it’s gotten several anime series, a video game (localized as Keith Courage in Alpha Zones), and lots of toys. But there’s more still to come in this anniversary year!

The show’s official website shared a celebratory visual, seen above, of the characters and robots of the very first series. Artists Momoko Makiuchi (Studio Live) and Satoshi Koike penned the new artwork.

So far, two events are planned for the big occasion. Starting today, a celebratory lottery on DMM Scratch will offer fans a chance to win art canvases, coasters, and pinback buttons:

And starting April 29, Ikebukuro’s GraffArt CAFE will be hosting a collab café event with the show:

The café gave a sneak peek at the sweet treats and drinks on its special menu, as well as the cute coaster you’ll get for ordering off the menu and the goods on sale during the event.
