Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Drifts Past 50 Million Copies Sold
Nothing can stop the plumber from getting his race on as Nintendo revealed today through its investor relations portal that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has passed 50 million copies sold on the Nintendo Switch, making the first game to do so for the hybrid console and a milestone in its own right for the Mario Kart franchise.
In total, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 52 million copies on the Nintendo Switch. Combined with its Wii U version, this number has increased to 60.4 million copies, which makes it the best-selling Mario game of all time, overtaking the original Super Mario Bros. that was released as a pack-in title for the Nintendo Entertainment System in many countries around the world.
