Gran Turismo Hollywood Film Takes Center Stage During Sony CES Keynote

Earlier this evening during its highly-anticipated Consumer Electronics Show keynote, Sony Group Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida took to the stage in Las Vegas to detail the latest developments across all of Sony Group’s companies from Sony, Playstation, metaverse developer Beyond Sports and the latest venture with Japanese automaker Honda in Sony Honda Mobility.
Sony Group CES Keynote Gran Turismo Details

During the keynote, reps from Sony Pictures were joined on stage by acclaimed director Neil Blomkamp to detail the forthcoming Gran Turismo live-action film adaptation, which is now slated for release on August 11, 2023. The first official teaser has also been released and is embedded below:

The film stars David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner and Djimon Hounsou with Maeve Courtier-Lilley, Emelia Hartford, Pepe Barroso and Sang Heon Lee rounding out the film’s cast. The film is a dramatization of the story behind Gran Turismo player turned professional driver Jann Mardenborough and his path from competing online, competing in the GT Academy reality competition and winning, to becoming a professional racing driver with automaker Nissan in Europe and Japan.
