Eyeshield 21 Artist Yusuke Murata Creates Special Animation for Manga’s 21st Anniversary

When One-Punch Man artist Yusuke Murata isn’t hard at work crafting dynamic manga pages, he’s using his spare time to crank out equally killer animation. In addition to his own original anime project, Murata is celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Eyeshield 21 manga—which launched in Shonen Jump back in July 2002 and was written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Murata—with a special piece of animation.

As you might expect, even without any audio it’s a truly impressive spectacle from Murata’s Village Studio. This is all part of a special one-shot announcement, and the completed version will be uploaded once the timing for the announcement is confirmed.

The Eyeshield 21 TV anime adaptation from studio Gallop and directors Masayoshi Nishida and Shin Katagai ran from April 2005 to March 2008 and is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll, which describes the series like so:

Since he was a child, Sena had been bullied into running errands which has given him superb speed which the American football team captain wants as part of “Eye Shield 21…Lightning Speed”.
