Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion Now in Development

 

After finishing the sprawling fantasy epic that is From Software’s Elden Ring, what’s next? Fortunately for fans hungry for more story, the world of the game is soon going to grow even bigger.

 

It was announced today that a new expansion is currently in development. Titled Shadow of the Erdtree, the upcoming DLC comes with one piece of concept art and some vague, but enticing, flavor text:

Fans and press outlets alike have already noted the lone figure in the bottom right of the concept image. What little we can see of the figure is notably similar to another character we’ve only seen a bit of. While there has been no confirmation one way or the other, many are guessing that this is Miquella: a mysterious key figure in the lore of the game. Fans have delved into cut quest routes in search of new information on this influential Empyrean, who seems to be at the center of the game’s conflict. Could Shadow of the Erdtree answer some of our questions? Or will it go a completely different direction?

 

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
