Chainsaw Man Makima VA Tomori Kusunoki Drops New Lyric Video “StrangeX”
The official YouTube channel for voice actress/singer-songwriter Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) has started streaming a lyric video for “StrangeX,” a new song from one of her two first two albums, “ABSENCE.”
While working as a member of the voice-actor unit of the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club series, she made her major debut as a solo singer in August 2019, and all of her previous four EPs ranked in Oricon’s weekly chart top 10. As reported, she will release her two first full-length albums, entitled “PRESENCE” and “ABSENCE,“ simultaneously on May 24, 2023.
Prior to the release of the albums, four new songs will be available digitally for four consecutive weeks. Following “Sore wo Boku wa Tsuyosa to Yobitai” (I want to call it strength) provided by Haruka to Miyuki on April 29, “StrangeX” provided by singer-songwriter meiyo is released today.
Message from meiyo:
Something is missing. Lacking. I want people to sympathize with me, but I am afraid to know that it is not my own special feeling. This is a song about someone strange like that. Crazy strings are my favorite. Kusunoki-san expressed such crazy feeling very carefully in her singing voice. It’s Kusunoki-san, but it’s like it’s not Kusunoki-san in a good way. The result is a wonderful song.
