Yuzukisan Chi no Yonkyodai Manga Surpasses One Million Copies in Print

 

The official Twitter for Shogakukan’s s shojo manga magazine Betsucomi confirmed today that Shizuki Fujisawa’s coming-of-age manga Yuzukisan chi no Yonkyodai has more than one million copies printed in Japan with the release of the latest 14th volume on May 25.

 

 

The manga has been serialized in the magazine since August 2018 and won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shoujo category in 2021.

 

The title can be translated as “The four brothers of the Yuzuki family.” Its story revolves around the four brothers of the Yuzuki family, who lost their parents two years ago. The eldest son, Hayato, is the only adult in the family; the second son, Mikoto, is in junior high school; the third son, Minato, is also in junior high school; and the fourth son, Gakuto, is in first grade. However, Minato has complicated feelings toward Mikoto, who is in the same year in school as him because they were born 12 months apart, although they are not twins, and toward Hayato, who relies on Mikoto more than himself…

As reported in April, the manga’s TV anime adaptation is now in the works, set to premiere in fall 2023. Hongo Mitsuru (Ascendance of a Bookworm) is attached to direct at studio Shuka, along with character designer/chief animation director Orie Tanaka (Fire Force, Natsume Yujin-cho animation director).
