You’re Being Summoned, Azazel Stage Play Shares More Photos of Cast and Devilish Dolls

As 2022 drew to a close, it was announced that the comedy manga and anime You’re Being Summoned, Azazel would be adapted for the stage. Not long after, we got our first look at the life-sized dolls who would represent the series’s cartoonish demons onstage. Now we’ve got two more!

As previously announced, the role of Beelzebub is double-cast, with Ryotaro Okiayu and Hiroki Takahashi taking turns in the role. New photos show them both posing with the onstage Beelzebub:

Also as previously announced, the second half of the evening will consist of a talk show event with the cast. We now know that this second half will also include an opportunity for theatergoers to photograph the cast and their characters’ dolls.

The stage play is set to be performed at Mixalive TOKYO Theater Mixa from February 10 to 26, 2023. General sales of the 16,000 yen (124 USD) tickets begin today.

The You’re Being Summoned, Azazel manga was serialized in Kodansha’s seien manga magazine Evening from 2007 to 2019, then compiled in 16 tankobon volumes. Its TV anime’s first season was aired from April to July 2011, then its second season You’re Being Summoned, Azazel Z followed from April to June 2013.

Synopsis:

Have a stalker you just can’t shake? Fear your spouse is being unfaithful? You might consider hiring Akutabe, a detective who summons demons to do his dirty work. While his methods might seem unorthodox, he always gets results. However, as powerful as Akutabe is, manipulating demons is delicate art. His new part-time employee Sakuma, a young college girl, doesn’t get to spend too much time exploring the finer points of controlling demons before Akutabe forces her into a demonic contract with Azazel. Azazel is lazy, lustful and depraved… Everything you’d expect a demon to be.
