Voice Actor Kisho Taniyama Gets His First Photo Book Shot by World-renowned Photographer Leslie Kee

Japanese publisher Tokyo News Tsushinsha has announced that voice actor Kisho Taniyama’s (Natsuki Shinomiya in Uta no Prince-sama, Chuya Nakahara in Bungo Stray Dogs) first photo book is set to be released on January 30, 2023.

Since his debut in 1996, he has appeared in many popular anime series and is active not only as a voice actor but also as a vocalist KISHOW of the music unit GRANRODEO. The unit recently performed as a support act of American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses’ concert at Saitama Super Arena on November 6.

The photo book was shot by Leslie Kee, a world-renowned photographer who has photographed many VIP celebrities in Japan and abroad, and the two had their first session in the publisher’s TV Guide VOICE STRAS Dandyism vol.1 released in August 2020. Kee has photographed numerous male voice actors for TV Guide VOICE STARS, but this is the first time for him to produce an entire photo book of an individual voice actor.

The main setting was Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture, which Taniyama had requested as a location. He shows off his well-trained body in the open-air bath with a view of Mount Fuji. Taniyama, now 47, says, “I hope that the release of this book will expand the possibilities of the voice acting industry, give courage to voice actors of my generation, and make fans to think, ‘That’s my Kisho Taniyama!’ and ‘You did it, Ki-yan!’ I am proud to say that this will be a work that surpasses any other voice actor photo book, and it is all thanks to Leslie. I hope that as many people as possible will pick up a copy. I’m going to buy a copy myself!”
