Masamune-kun’s Revenge R Anime Postponed to July 2023 Due to COVID-19

The official website and accounts for the Masamune-kun’s Revenge anime series and its upcoming second season, subtitled “R”, announced today that the sequel’s premiere has been postponed from April 2023 to July 2023 due to the impact of COVID-19 on production.

Based on the manga by Hazuki Takeoka and Tiv, Masamune-kun’s Revenge R is being directed by Mirai Minato (The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious) at studio SILVER LINK., with series composition by Michiko Yokote (Call of the Night) and character designs by Yuki Sawairi (The Dungeon of Black Company).

 

Crunchyroll, which streams the first season that aired in 2017 and confirmed streaming for the second season, describes the series as such:

 

“I’ve returned to this town for revenge!” Eight years ago, Makabe Masamune, a weak and chubby boy, was harshly rejected by the beautiful Adagaki Aki. Now, he’s lost a ton of weight, changed his name, and returned as a handsome teenage boy… all to make the “Brutal Princess” Aki fall in love with him so that he can reject her just as harshly as she did.
