Tokyo Revengers Celebrates Last Manga Volume With Special Visuals in Newspapers Across Japan

Today was the release of the 31st and final Tokyo Revengers manga volume and to celebrate the momentous occasion, seven different illustrations were shown off in this morning’s edition of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. The different visuals were released across seven different regions across the country, showing two versions of each character with the theme of turning their destiny upside down.

Shinichiro Sano’s visual appeared in Hokkaido

 

Ken Ryuguji’s visual appeared in Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, Fukushima, Niigata, Yamanashi and Nagano

 

Manjiro Sano’s visual appeared in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Chiba, Shizuoka and in certain parts of Okinawa (partial)

 

Hinata Tachibana’s visual appeared in Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, certain cities in Mie, Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, Hiroshima, Tokushima, Kagawa, Ehime and Kochi

 

Chifuyu Matsuno’s visual appeared in Aichi, Gifu and certain cities in Mie

 

Takemichi Hanagaki’s visual appeared in Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Shiga, Nara and Wakayama

 

Takashi Mitsuya’s visual appeared in Yamaguchi, Fukuoka, Oita, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Kagoshima and certain parts of Okinawa

The first season of the TV anime adaptation of Tokyo Revengers streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired from April to September 2021. The second season, dubbed Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown Arc, is streaming worldwide on Disney+ services from January. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

 

Takemichi Hanagaki is a freelancer that’s reached the absolute pits of despair in his life. He finds out that the only girlfriend he ever had in his life that he dated in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, had been killed by the ruthless Tokyo Manji Gang. The day after hearing about her death, he’s standing on the station platform and ends up being pushed over onto the tracks by a herd of people. He closes his eyes thinking he’s about to die, but when he opens his eyes back up, he somehow had gone back in time 12 years. Now that he’s back living the best days of his life, Takemichi decides to get revenge on his life by saving his girlfriend and changing himself that he’d been running away from.
