Kibou no Chikara ~ Otona Precure ’23 ~ depicts the story of how the main girls of the franchise’s fourth installment Yes! Precure 5 (2007-2008) and its direct sequel Yes! Precure 5 Gogo! (2008-2009) have grown, focusing on the protagonist Nozomi Yumehara (Cure Dream). It will premiere on NHK Educational TV in October 2023.

Meanwhile, as its title suggests, Maho Tsukai Precure! 2 / Maho Girls Precure! 2 will be a direct sequel to the 13th instalment Maho Tsukai Precure! / Maho Girls Precure! (2016-2017). It will be aired on ABC TV/TV Asahi network’s midnight programming block “ANiMAZiNG!!!! in 2024.

The two anime will be produced as part of the franchise’s 20th anniversary project. The Precure anime franchise has been produced for children aged three to six, the main audience for the series, but the two new anime will be produced for the adult fans of the franchise who have grown up. Toei Animation says, “After 20 long years, these two works are created based on the concept of ‘making images that will make the ‘Precure’ series even more enjoyable in the future,’ not only for the fans of the series who have grown up, but also for those who are watching the series now.”
