The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human Posts Action-Packed Trailer

The anime The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human (a.k.a. Maō-gun Saikyō no Majutsushi wa Ningen Datta) will be here in July, as we just learned from its full trailer. The trailer additionally lets us know a bit more about the cast and crew and gives us an opportunity to hear a clip from the opening theme song “Ctrl C” being performed by KOHTA YAMAMOTO feat. Shun Ikegai.

According to the trailer, Kentarō Tone plays Jiron. It had been previously disclosed that Jun Fukuyama plays Ike, Hina Tachibana plays Satie, Shizuka Itōh plays Cefiro, Manaka Iwami plays Dairokuten Demon Lord, and Azumi Waki plays Lilith.

As for more about the crew, the trailer says that Satoshi Motoyama is the sound director, Pony Canyon is handling music production, and Bit Grooove Promotion is handling sound production.

The anime is being made at Studio A-Cat, with Norihiko Nagahama, who has worked as an episode director on Black Butler, helming the project as director. The person in charge of series scripts is Touko Machida, whose credits include Battle Game in 5 Seconds.

The franchise started out as a light novel series by Ryousuke Hata. It also has a manga adaptation, and the anime version is based off the manga, not the novels. Happinet gave this description for the plot:

Ike is known as “”the strongest magician in the demon king’s army”” and is a single-handedly conquering fortresses.

The way he mowed down the enemies with his immense magic is truly a “”monster”” that makes him feared by both allies and foes alike.

However, he had a secret that he could not tell other demons.

“”–I’m actually human.””

Aiming for a coexistence between demons and humans while the leader of demon’s army is hiding the fact that he is actually a human!?
