The King of Braves GaoGaiGar Anime Plans 25th Anniversary Exhibition in July

An exhibition event commemorating the 25th anniversary of The King of Braves GaoGaiGar, the eighth and final installment of Sunrise’s Brave series super robot anime franchise, will be held at the Seibu Shibuya’s Movida Hall in Tokyo from July 14 to 30, 2023. The 1,600-yen advance ticket goes on sale at 10:00 on June 1 (JST).

The King of Braves GaoGaiGar was aired for 49 episodes from February 1997 to January 1998. Thanks to its huge popularity, the eight-episode sequel OVA series The King of Braves GaoGaiGar Final followed from January 2000 to March 2003.

Sunrise describes the series as:

Mamoru was brought to the Earth eight years ago with the lion look-alike robot, Galeon, and grew up as an ordinary boy until aliens began attacking the Earth and Zonderising humans. Guy, a cyborg is a Commanding Officer of the GGG, a secret organization against invasion from aliens. He has the ability to fuse with Galeon to transform into GAIGAR, and through the final fusion, he becomes GAOGAIGAR, a gigantic robot with overwhelmingly powerful strength. Mamoru becomes the only one who can de-Zonderise people.

Photo spots and dioramas will be set up at the venue. In addition to the “World of GaoGaiGar” themed exhibit, interviews with staff members, original art drawings of its related manga series, toys from the broadcast era, and other items will be on display. Event-limited merchandise will also be available for sale.
