The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor Fantasy Novel Gets Anime Adaptation

The official website for Kadokawa Beans Bunko announced today that an anime adaptation of Sarasa Nagase’s fantasy light novel series The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor is now in the works. This is the author’s second work adapted into an anime, following I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss in 2022.

The author writes on Twitter, “I am really, really grateful and it seems that after Aileen and other characters, Jill and the others will also speak and move. Thanks to all of your support! Thank you so much!”

The series is published by the imprint beginning in March 2020, and its latest sixth volume was released in Japan on April 28. A manga adaptation of the series, drawn by Anko Yuzu, began in July 2020 with Yen Press licensing the series under the title “The Second-Chance Noble Daughter Sets Out to Conquer the Dragon Emperor,” with the first English volume scheduled to release in August 2023. Cross Infinite World, the English publisher for the novel series, describes the story:

Jill is sentenced to death by the crown prince, her fiancé. But just before she dies, she’s sent back in time six years to the party where their engagement had been decided. To avoid this route of ruin, Jill immediately proposes to the person standing behind her…but it’s the man who was her greatest enemy, Emperor Hadis?! Jill knows all about his future descent into evil. She quickly retracts the proposal, but the delighted Hadis takes her back to his castle and makes her a meal. Completely won over by the food, Jill makes a life-changing decision… “I’m going to reform—no, I’m going to make you happy!” It’s time to redo this life with the enemy!
