The original Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire light novels are written by Hayaken and illustrated by Nagu, published in Japan by Hobby Japan under their HJ Bunko imprint, and an English language version is also available from J-Novel Club. The TV anime adaptation is directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya and features animation production by Studio Comet. Crunchyroll describes the story:
