SPY x FAMILY CODE: White Takes 5th Place in American Box Office
The weekend is over, and we can check out the box office results! First place went to Civil War, which nabbed $11.12. Second place went to Abigail, and Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire came in third with earnings of $9.4 million. Worldwide, it’s made quite a bit — $485.2 million.
Fourth place went to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and after that, at fifth place, we get to SPY x FAMILY CODE: White. The Forgers’ big screen romp played in a little more than 2,000 theaters across North America and made $4.8 million. Overall, the whole box office was pretty underwhelming this weekend.
That said, SPY x FAMILY CODE: White is doing well among audiences and reviewers, with a score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and an A grade CinemaScore.
David A. Gross, who works at the consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, told Variety, “Like most anime titles, ‘Spy x Family’ arrives having already done extremely well in Japan. Anime releases play quickly domestically, but make most of their money in Asia.”
Altogether, SPY x FAMILY CODE: White has brought in $45.8 million from around the world.
