Author’s Health Leads to Premature End for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Ways of Monster Nation Manga

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Ways of Monster Nation

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Ways of Monster Nation has been on hiatus for a while, and now it’s going to end prematurely. Micro Magazine’s Comic Ride magazine announced plans to end the series earlier this month as a result of author Sho Okagiri’s health.

The Ways of Monster Nation was previously planning a return to serialization sometime in 2022, but Micro Magazine said it continued to be difficult to resume publication. The series first launched in 2016, and the eighth collected volume launched in Japan in January 2021, followed by the English version in August 2022.

Here’s how Yen Press—which publishes the series in North America—describes it:

Framea’s continuing her exploration of Tempest in the search for three-star worthy sights, experiences, and attractions. But this time around, she’s got her hands full with outlandish requests from Rimuru Tempest himself! Between escorting some terrifying demons around town, high-stakes aquatic activities, and even war on the horizon, Framea’s doing all she can just to keep up. One thing is certain: Life in Tempest is anything but boring!

The main That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series by FUSE currently has its third anime season airing in Japan and streaming on Crunchyroll.
