Splatoon 3 Will Kick Off Charity Speedrunning Madness of Awesome Games Done Quick 2023
Back in September, dates were officially locked in for the next installment of the Awesome Games Done Quick charity speedrunning event, which will be an online-only marathon held from January 8-15, 2023. Now the full schedule has been revealed, and after the pre-show the first game will be an Any% run of Splatoon 3 by LonTr0.
As usual, there’s a ton of around-the-clock entertainment to look forward to over the course of the week that follows, from huge games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to more niche titles like the PlayStation 2 Gungrave game and an Awful Block of games that you’re better off watching than playing.

The Games Done Quick series of speedrunning events has raised $41 million for charity to date. For those new to the event, here’s the official description:
Games Done Quick has been hosting speedrunning marathons for more than a decade. The purpose is simple: Expert players from around the world highlight their skills by beating games as quickly as possible – often taking minutes to run through video games that might ordinarily require dozens of hours to complete. All the while, viewers give donations in a raucous livestream, the proceeds of which are given directly to the event’s charity partner.
What runs are you looking forward to most?
