Oshi no Ko’s Ruby and Aqua Sparkle on the Cover of Fashion Mag SPUR

 

In a moment of bringing Oshi no Ko to the real world, for the next issue of Japanese fashion magazine SPUR, Ruby and Aqua will be appearing as their glamorous selves on the cover of the August issue, as drawn by manga illustrator Mengo Yokoyari. Ahead of the release on June 22, the cover was unveiled.

 

 

The twin titans of entertainment are wearing Tiffany and Dior jewelry of their respective gemstones along with high fashion pieces popular with Japanese audiences. An interview between the manga illustrator and author Aka Akasaka will appear inside the magazine, talking about the behind-the-scenes production and how the anime has affected their creative juices.

The Oshi no Ko anime is currently airing weekly with HiDIVE streaming it in English-speaking countries. The manga, written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish), is published in Weekly Young Jump in Japan while Manga Plus digitally publishes the manga’s official English version. Manga Plus describes the series as such:

 

“In the world of showbiz, lies are weapons.” Goro works as an OB-GYN in the countryside, a life far removed from the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, has begun her climb to stardom. The two meet in the “worst possible way,” setting the gears of fate in motion! The amazing Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari team up to depict the world of showbiz from a completely new perspective in this shocking series!
