One Piece Episode 1000 Dub World Premiere Planned for Anime Expo

One Piece fans, get ready for a big celebration of the series at this year’s Anime Expo. Toei Animation and Crunchyroll revealed plans for the weekend event, with the world premiere of the Episode 1000 English dub scheduled to take place on July 2 at the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live.

In addition to the screening of the 1000th dubbed episode, the special occasion will include other fan experiences like an autograph session with Toei Animation animators and dub actors Sonny Strait (Usopp), Patrick Seitz (Franky) and Ian Sinclair (Brook). There will also be a live drawing showcase and Q&A with the One Piece animators, a Luffy and Shanks statue display, demo stations for One Piece Card Game and One Piece Odyssey and more.

 

Entry will be determined on a first come, first served basis—limited to the maximum capacity of the venue and free to everyone—so those looking to attend won’t need an AX badge. Here are all the details on the screening event:

Time: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Location: GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live Roof Top Terrace

Description: Join Toei Animation and Crunchyroll for the world premiere of the 1000th dub episode of “One Piece.” This milestone event includes a specially produced fan celebration featuring:

• Autograph Signing Session with dub cast members Sonny Strait (“Usopp”), Patrick Seitz (“Franky”) and Ian Sinclair (“Brook”).

• Live Drawing Showcase and Q&A with Japanese “One Piece” animators.

• Luffy & Zoro Mascot Photo Ops.

• Luffy & Shanks Life-Sized Statue Display.

• ONE PIECE CARD GAME Demo.

• One Piece Odyssey Demo stations.

• Exclusive Event Giveaways, including an Episode 1000 opening scene storyboard booklet.

 

 

 

Toei Animation also previously announced plans to bring the North American premiere of THE FIRST SLAM DUNK to Anime Expo on Monday, June 3.

 

Based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, all of the One Piece anime is currently available on Crunchyroll, with new episodes streaming each week. Here’s how Crunchyroll describes it:
