Miman’s Yuri Is My Job! Manga Surpasses One Million Copies in Print

The official PR Twitter account for Japanese publisher Ichijinsha has confirmed that Miman’s yuri comedy manga series Yuri Is My Job! will finally surpass one million copies in print with the release of its latest 12th volume to be available in Japan on May 17.

The manga has been serialized in the publisher’s yuri-themed monthly magazine Comic Yuri Hime since its January 2017 issue, and has become one of its leading titles.

The author has posted her message of appreciation on Twitter: “Thanks to your support, ‘Yuri Is My Job!’ will surpass one million copies! I would like to thank everyone who has supported it up until now and everyone who has just found it! If you’ve learned about it through the TV anime and are interested in the original yuri manga, why not take this opportunity to read the manga as well?”

One of the reasons for the manga’s rise in popularity is, of course, its TV anime adaptation that has been airing since April. The TV anime produced by Passione and Studio Lings premiered in Japan on April 5, and has also been simulcast on Crunchyroll for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.

Synopsis:

Worried about her reputation, Hime covers shifts for a cafe manager she accidentally injures to maintain her picture-perfect princess image. But this cafe has a peculiar theme—private school. To put on her best barista schoolgirl act, she’ll be trained by the most graceful girl there, Mitsuki. Under her guidance, Hime’s feelings start to brew, but there’s just one problem—Mitsuki can’t stand her!
