Love Live! Superstars VA Nagisa Aoyama Sings Attack on Titan Ending Theme for CrosSing Project

As the 27th entry of the cover song project CrosSing, voice actress Nagisa Aoyama, best known as Ren Hazuki in Love Live! Superstars! and as a member of the anime’s VA unit Liella!, sang “Akuma no Ko,” the ending theme for the Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 TV anime.

The dramatic tune was originally performed by Japanese singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi. As her 10th digital single, it was released on January 10, 2022, then received a great response from all over the world, ranking No. 1 in Apple Music’s J-Pop ranking in 66 countries including Germany, France, Italy, and Korea, and in the top 10 in 41 other countries.

The CrosSing project launched in March 2022 to bring the “voices” of artists who are active in various genres, such as voice actors, anime song artists, virtual YouTubers, and 2.5D stage play actors, through songs. The number of its registered subscribers on YouTube has surpassed 182,000. Nagisa Aoyama is one of the artists of its fifth season — alongside Aina Aiba, Kaori Ishihara, Aguri Onishi, Moeka Koizumi, and Yuko Natsuyosi & Misato Matsuoka from Utagoe wa Mille-feuille.

Aoyama said in a message video, “I was so nervous! We shot the video at the same time, but the singing was just too difficult. It was difficult, but the more emotion I put into the song, the more I enjoyed it. By the end of the recording session, I was filled with a feeling like, ‘I’ve done it all!'”
