Ko Nigatsu’s Voice Actor-themed Light Novel Seiyu Radio no Ura Omote Gets TV Anime Adaptation

A TV anime adaptation of Ko Nigatsu’s voice actor-themed light novel series Seiyu Radio no Ura Omote (The Two Sides of Voice Actor Radio) is now in the works. The news was revealed last night during the special live-streaming program to promote the release of its forthcoming eighth volume to be released on January 7, 2023.

The author won the Grand Prize at the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2019, then made his professional light novel writer debut with the series in the following year. Its story centers on two young voice actresses who are also classmates in high school.

Yumiko Sato, who is working as a voice actress under the stage name Yasumi Utatane, is selected to be a radio personality for a radio show. Her partner is another young voice actress, Yuhi Yugure, who is her classmate Chika Watanabe. The two have incompatible personalities, and they abuse each other whenever they open their mouths, but as they work together in radio, anime, and events and overcome their troubles, they come to be strongly aware of each other as rivals.

Miku Ito (Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) and Moe Toyota (Sapphire Kawashima in Sound! Euphonium), the two members of voice actress unit Pyxis, have played the two protagonist girls – Ito as Yumiko and Toyota as Chika – in the novel’s PV, audio books, and radio shows. It was also confirmed that the two will reprise their roles in the anime as well.
