The video begins with training scenes of Mackenyu, who plays the protagonist Seiya, and shows the behind-the-scenes look from the filming of action scenes, including a match in the underground arena. Andy Cheng, who worked on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), joined the film as the fight coordinator.

“I have worked with many action stars in my career, including Jackie Chan and Dwayne Johnson, and I believe that Mackenyu is the best among all,” Cheng said. “He may be young, but he already has a lot of experience, and to begin with he grew up with his father, the world famous action star Shinichi Chiba (Sonny Chiba). He has all the talent, skill, and discipline. I can say that he is an absolutely outstanding actor.”

Under the Japanese title Saint Saiya The Beginning, the film is set to be released in Japan on April 28, 2023. Prior to the release, the film’s Japanese premiere event will be streamed on YouTube from 18:45 (JST) / 02:45 (PT) on April 18.
