The upcoming anime Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! (a.k.a. Dosanko Gal wa Namaramenkoi in Japanese) released a video to show how adorable a character Minami Fuyuki is. It’s a little over half a minute long and you also get to hear her voice in it.

The original plan was for the anime to come out in 2023, but as you can see in the trailer, it’s now scheduled to be released in January 2024.

Looking toward what we know of the cast, Ayane Sakura plays Minami Fuyuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki plays Tsubasa Shiki, Yumiri Hanamori plays Sayuri Akino, and Reina Ueda plays Rena Natsukawa.

As for the company and crew, the anime is being made at SILVER LINK and BLADE, with Misuzu Hoshino, who has worked on Laid-Back Camp and The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! helming the project as director. Meanwhile, Mirai Minato, who is known for Masamune-kun’s Revenge and BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, is working as both the chief director and the person in charge of overseeing the series scripts. Credit for character design goes to Katsuyuki Sato, whose credits include My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex, and Fire in His Fingertips -My Childhood Friend is a Fireman-.

The original manga by Kai Ikada premiered in September 2019 on the Shonen Jump+ app. Eleven compiled manga volumes have been released in Japan. You can read it in English through the MANGA Plus website (from Shueisha), which gave this description for the plot:

High school boy Tsubasa moves to Kitami City up in Hokkaido, where he meets a “gal” at a bus stop. The sight of her standing alone against the white snowscape, bare-legged despite the freezing cold, captures his heart.
