Gundam Build Metaverse Anime Premieres This October
GUNDAM.INFO’s official YouTube channel began streaming a new 60-second teaser trailer for Gundam Build Metaverse, a three-episode series to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Gundam Build anime series. The clip features the anime’s key visual introducing its main characters, and announces its premiere date of October 2023.

Unlike the previous Gundam series, the Gundam Build series, which began in 2013, is based on “Gunpla Battles,” a fictional simulation competition using real-life Gunpla models sold by Bandai.

Gundam Build Metaverse will be produced as part of Bandai Namco Group’s “Gundam Metaverse Project,” including “Gunpla Colony” — a virtual space colony with sections themed on anime — Gunpla, e-sports, music, etc. The three-episode series is set to stream on the Gundam franchise’s official YouTube channel, GUNDAM.INFO., in October 2023. Acclaimed robot anime director/designer Masami Obari (Gravion) is attached to direct. The series is described as such:
A new Internet service has been born in the world of Gunpla. Within the Metaverse realm, the user can control their own avatar, interact with other users, play Gunpla Battle, and purchase actual Gunpla. Rio Hojo is a boy who has dived into this new world. Studying Gunpla building techniques in the real world with Seria Urutuski, and absorbing Gunpla Battle know-how from Mask Lady in the Metaverse world, he has been honing his skills day by day. After completing his own original Gunpla, the Lah Gundam, Rio happens to encounter some past champions of Gunpla Battle in the Metaverse realm.
