Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Lands On Nintendo Switch And PlayStation 4 In 2023

Square-Enix has had quite the busy year in video games, but it’s easy to forget that it started the year by continuing to release the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster editions of the first six Final Fantasy games, first on PC via Steam, then on smartphones. With the relative simplicity of the games on offer, many were left wondering why long-standing, yet still viable platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 were seemingly left out of the initial release.

It looks like Square-Enix has listened and listened intently, as the developer and publisher is set to release the Pixel Remaster series for the aforementioned platforms early next year. The releases will also have options for complete bundle purchases, as well as the option to purchase each game in the series individually, both digitally, and in an exclusive limited-edition physical release that Square-Enix is held in high regard for delivering with consistency. The FINAL FANTASY I-VI PIXEL REMASTER -FF35th Anniversary Edition is detailed below:

  • FINAL FANTASY I-VI COLLECTION – physical collection of all games for either PS4 or Nintendo Switch-
  • Anniversary Edition GOODS BOX.
  • A bonus lenticular sleeve for the game package.
  • 2-disc vinyl record set featuring newly arranged game music with exclusive cover artwork by Kazuko Shibuya
  • A specially compiled artbook showcasing beautiful character pixel art.
  • Eight stylized pixel art character figures in window packaging.

Pre-orders for the FINAL FANTASY I-VI PIXEL REMASTER -FF35th Anniversary Edition are available now exclusively from the Square-Enix online store, with a second wave of physical standard edition pre-orders opening up before release next Spring.
