Eren the Southpaw Web Manga Announces Anime Adaptation

Eren the Southpaw Anime Announcement

Kappy‘s popular web manga Eren the Southpaw (“Hidarikiki no Eren”) is finally making the jump to anime!

First launched on the cakes web manga service in 2016, it was remade for a Shonen Jump Plus run the following year with new art by nifuni. That run ended earlier this year with the manga’s 188th chapter.

The series follows Kouichi Asakura, a designer for an ad agency who works hard but receives no recognition. After being dropped from a project, he visits a place from his past, where he met Eren Yamagishi. Eren, meanwhile, is recognized as a genius left-handed graffiti artist in New York, while enduring the struggles that come from her own path in life.

The manga was previously adapted into a live-action series, airing in late 2019 and starring Fuju Kamio as Kouichi and Elaiza Ikeda as Eren.

More details will be coming soon. In the meantime, Amazon Japan is offering the original manga series for “almost-free” for a limited time—0 yen for up to the first ten volumes, and 2,580 yen for the full 28-volume bundle.
