Crypton Future Media Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Hatsune Miku’s Online Concert
Crypton Future Media launched a crowdfunding campaign to hold the “HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2023 VR” online concert by Hatsune Miku today on February 6, 2023 at 11:00am (JST) on Kickstarter. If the target amount (40,000,000 yen / 304,912 USD) is reached, the event will be available worldwide both in VR and as a video stream for free in October 2023. The campaign will run for two months from today.

“HATSUNE MIKU EXPO” (also known as “MIKU EXPO”) is a world tour series featuring Crypton’s virtual singer Hatsune Miku. Starting with a show in Jakarta in 2014, a total of 68 performances have been held in 30 cities around the world. It will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year.
In 2024, Crypton is aiming to hold a real concert overseas for the first time in four years. Prior to the memeorial year, they have planned this crowdfunding campaign to hold an online concert in 2023, which will allow them to connect with people all over the world beyond various boundaries. Their press release writes, “‘HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2023 VR’ aims to bring together fans from around the world, and the show will be streamed for free as both a VR experience and a concert video for those without a VR environment. Using cutting-edge technology, we will be providing a brand new concert experience never seen before!”
At this point, two hours after the launch, the campaign has collected 12,373,913 yen / 94,324 USD (31 percent of the goal) from 292 supporters.
