Blue Orchestra Anime Introduces 7 New Cast Members

 

Blue Orchestra plays on through both the spring and summer anime season. And to fill out the seats in the Kaimaku High School Orchestra Club, seven new voice actors will be joining the cast!

 

The new roles were announced today, along with art of all seven upperclassmen:

 

 

From left to right, they are:

 

Mizuki Machii voiced by Chika Anzai (Reina Kōsaka in Sound! Euphonium)

Tsubasa Takahashi voiced by Ruriko Aoki (Riina Tada in The IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS)

Takami Kimura voiced by Hisako Kanemoto (Ami Mizuno in Sailor Moon Crystal)

Himeko Susono voiced by Mai Kanazawa (Sayu in Rilakkuma and Kaoru)

 

Kayo Takimoto voiced by Mai Fuchigami (Dortin in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen)

Sanae Iida voiced by Rumi Okubo (Omoharu Nakanaka in Komi Can’t Communicate)

Tsutomi Kikuchi voiced by Takahiro Mizushima (Gawain in Fate/Grand Order)

Plus, NHK E-tele will spend the month of June celebrating the series. Rebroadcasts of the series will begin on June 3, and NHK’s YouTube Channel will host watchalong videos with the cast and musicians of the series.

 

Based on the manga by Makoto Akui, Blue Orchestra is being directed by Seiji Kishi (Assassination ClassroomAngel Beats) at studio Nippon Animation, with series composition by Yuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru), character designs by Kazuaki Morita (Tsukigakirei) and music by Akira Kosemura.

 

The series follows high school student Hajime Aono, who grew up a violin prodigy that won numerous awards and dominated most of the competitions he participated in. Despite this, he gave up on the violin during his second year of middle school. One day, he meets Ritsuko Akine. Akine inspires him to take up the violin again, deciding to go to a high school with a famous orchestra club. With the help of Akine and his new clubmates, he learns to love the violin again.
