Akari no Moribito Media Mix Project Brings Hokkaido’s Lighthouses to Life at Super Seiyuu Festival

 

Back in 2020, Akari no Moribito—a media mix project personifying Japan’s many lighthouses—was launched by Tokyo-based company World Eggs. The goal was to bring attention to these classic coastal guardians, as modern technology is rendering them ever more obsolete. Fans of the project will be happy to know that six new lighthouses will be joining the project’s ranks, as part of this month’s Super Seiyuu Festival 2023!

 

The online event, hosted by Niconico, is currently underway—meaning some viewers have already glimpsed the “regular edition” of this special event. Titled Hokkaido Kaitakushi Hen, the new voice play introduces six new lighthouses to the project’s ever-growing roster:

  • Sota Arai as Hiroi Takeru
  • Yukiyo Fujii as Atoui
  • Marina Inoue as Aizawa Usaburou
  • Shogo Sakata as Shirase Dan
  • Eiji Takemoto as Yamamoto Yasaburou
  • Takayuki Kondo as Shioyasaki Toudai

Ryōtarō Okiayu serves as narrator.

The “special announcement version” will be released via the event’s website on April 28. Until then, fans can listen to more episodes of the audio drama, which will also be distributed as part of the event.
