Insomniacs After School Live-action Film Releases Teaser Visual & Trailer Introducing The Two Leads

 

 

The official website for the forthcoming live-action film adaptation of Makoto Ojiro’sKimi wa Houkago Insomnia / Insomniacs After School manga has released a teaser visual and a 30-second teaser trailer introducing the two leading cast – Nana Mori (21 / Hina Amano in Weathering With You) as Isaki Magari and Daiken Okudaira (18 / Shuhei in MOTHER) as Ganta Nakami.

 

The film is directed by Chihiro Ikeda (Startup Girls) on his own screenplay co-written with Izumi Takahashi (Tokyo Revengers). Filming took place in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the setting of the original manga, for a month. It is also confirmed that the film is set to be released in Japan in June 2023.

The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2019 and 11 tankobon volumes have been released in Japan so far. The story is set in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Ganta, a high school boy suffering from insomnia, meets Isaki, who has the same problem. In the school’s observatory, which is now used as a storage room, their mysterious relationship begins to share a fleeting sleep after school and a secret…

 

The manga’s TV anime adaptation has also been in the works for a premiere in 2023.
