Yuki Nagato VA Minori Chihara Resumes Her Singing Career
The official website for voice actor Minori Chihara, whose well-known anime characters include Yuki Nagato in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Erica Brown in Violet Evergarden, announced today that she will resume her singing career in August. She has been taking a break from her singing career since April 2021.

However, she plans to work on an irregular basis, rather than continuously releasing music and giving concerts as she has done in the past. Her first appearance after her two-year hiatus will be at the “Minori Chihara LIVE 2023 ‘We are stars!'” concert to be held on August 8, along with a fireworks display to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the town of Fujikawaguchiko.
She cited three reasons for resuming her singing activities: next year, 2024, will mark the 20th anniversary of her debut, she wants to participate in anime events for which she has sung theme songs, and the people of Fujikawaguchiko Town approached her to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the town’s birth. The Kawaguchiko Stella Theater, where she has held concerts for 13 years, is located in the town.
She wrote, “It was because of the fans and people involved who asked me to sing again that I was able to think about how to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my debut and to face the offers from the anime events and Fujikawaguchiko Town. If everything had not happened at the same time, I don’t think I would have made the choice to resume my career. Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the relationships I have formed with you all. As an entertainer, I will continue to devote myself to be a source of energy for everyone, and I look forward to your continued support!”
