The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime Website Begins Hourglass Countdown

 

 

The Dragon Hourglass suddenly appeared on the official Japanese website for The Rising of the Shield Hero anime franchise yesterday and has started a mysterious countdown.

 

In the anime story, the Dragon Hourglass indicates how much time until the next Wave of Calamity. The countdown on the site will end at 20:00 (JST) / 04:00 (PT) on April 7. What will happen when it reaches zero…? Don’t miss it!

 

 

 

 

Following the well-received first season in 2019 and the second season in 2022, the much-awaited TV anime third season has been in the works. And Crunchyroll will stream it as it airs in Japan for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

Season 3 was originally announced at Crunchyroll Expo 2019. Based on the light novels by Aneko Yusagi and Seira Minami, Masato Jinbo (Restaurant to Another World) directed Season 2 at studios DR Movie and Kinema Citrus, with series composition by Keigo Koyanagi, character designs by Masahiro Suwa and music by Kevin Penkin.

 

The Rising of the Shield Hero anime is described as such:

 

Learning that other nations are enduring the Calamity Waves, Naofumi vows to fight. But before he can begin, word comes that the massive Spirit Tortoise is free. Left unchecked, this rampaging monster could destroy the world. He assembles companions Raphtalia and Filo and a few new allies, one of which reveals scary news—this was no accident. Someone deliberately unleashed the legendary beast!
